A spokesperson for the new restaurant said the concept is still being developed and a concrete renovation and opening timeline has not been established. However, the team plans for the restaurant to open sometime in 2022.
Unlike the original redBERRY, the new restaurant will offer dinner service in addition to lunch. It will also have a menu focused on brick-oven pizzas and an extensive appetizers and shareables menu.
The new restaurant, redBERRY and the Sherwood of Troy shopping center are all under the same ownership.
“There has always been an intention behind revitalizing Sherwood... we wanted to bring new life to this side of Troy and make Sherwood a destination for our community and for visitors of our city,” said a redBERRY team spokesperson. “Choosing Sherwood as a location for the new restaurant is just another part of those efforts.”
The redBERRY concept was developed by local entrepreneur Mykie Thompson and investors who have been re-invigorating Sherwood Shopping Centre, now called simply Sherwood. Thompson’s parents, Michael and Telisa Delligatta, have overseen the Michael Anthony’s at the Inn restaurant at the Inn at Versailles in Darke County.
The restaurant was named to pay homage to Troy’s love for its local strawberries and, of course, the annual Troy Strawberry Festival.
